Rubber covered frame fiber pressure resistant steel frame tape measure from China factory

1. Introduction

A tape measure consists of three main parts:
1) The case
2) The thumb lock
3) The tape
The case is made from stainless steel and is generally designed to be water-resistant to prevent the user from wetting their hands. Stainless steel also resists corrosion. However, there are plastic cases available too (for example CTS-135), but usually, they are not durable enough for daily use (at least for my liking). I would recommend either buying stainless steel or stainless steel/plastic cases (or one of each). The best option if you want both would be the latter.

2. The function of a metal tape measure

A metal tape measure is known to be an adaptable tool, which helps in measuring many things. It can be used for measuring the distance between two places, the height of a building, or the length of a chain. It has the ability to measure and indicate many things around it. It is also becoming a significant trend in the technology industry. We will discuss some aspects of metal tape measures.

The different types of metal tape measures

Here is a list of the different types of metal tape measures:

A metric tape measure is used for measuring the distance between two points where any standard length of red, black, or colorless tape or wire can be inserted along either edge. It consists of a case with a sharp edge/tape and snare, which can be shortened to make it smaller or longer to fit in your pocket. The measurement of this type of meter is 2-3 mm shorter than that of the English-type meters shown above.

A nonmetric tape measure is used for measuring the distance between two points where any standard length of red, black, or colorless tape can be inserted along either edge. This type of meter consists of a case with a sharp edge/tape and snare, which can be shortened to make it smaller or longer to fit in your pocket. The measurement of this type of meter is 1mm shorter than that of the English-type meters shown above as well as being slightly more sensitive than an analog meter (which has fewer units).

A digital tape measure is used for measuring distances from zero up to a given point on the ruler but not beyond it where you have to count from one end toward the other end manually (i.e., 0-.9999). It consists only of an analog meter with six digits and a torque wrench (i.e., 0-.9999).

A digital nonmetric tape measure is used for measuring distances from zero up to a given point on the ruler but not beyond it where you have to count from one end toward another end manually (i.e., 0-.99999). It consists only of an analog meter with seven digits and no torque wrench (i.e., 0-.999999).

A digital nonmetric non-digital tape measure is used for measuring distances between two points on the ruler but not beyond them where you have to count from one end toward another end manually (i.e., 0-.999999,-1). It consists only of an analog meter with eight digits and a torque wrench (i.e., 0-,1,2,3, etc.).
